2018 Dutch National Championships Results

Congratulations to Provinciale Brassband Groningen winners of the Dutch National Championships. Pro Rege, Excelsior, Looft den Heer and Halleluja were also celebrating success in the lower sections in Utrecht.

The Championship section featured Torstein Aagaard- Nilsen's 'Old Licks Bluesed Up', a superb performance under MD Richard Visser giving the winning band the narrowest of margins over rivals Soli Brass, with Brassband Schoonhoven in awarded third place. Groningen will now represent The Netherlands at the 2019 European Championships in Montreux.

Commenting on the win, conductor Richard Wisser was generous in his appreciation of the efforts of his players stating, "I must thank my players for all their efforts, as they were incredible. I will leave them to celebrate tonight as they deserve it. I may just have one drink then go to bed!"

Full results can be found below with more details and a contest retrospective featuring in the next edition of BBW.
