2018 Brighouse Festival of Brass March & Hymn Tune

Milnrow retained the popular march and hymn tune title, successfully defending against the challenge of 29 rivals to claim the 19th Festival of Brass March & Hymn Tune title in Brighouse on the weekend.

The superb organisation by the local Brighouse & District Lions and beautiful weather meant that large crowds, as well as judges David Hirst and David Ashworth, had plenty of fine music making to enjoy.

The defending champions led by M.D. Mark Bentham once again secured the top-spot in style, with a four point margin over the Elland Silver and Hepworth bands. The winners gave outstanding performances of 'Knight Templar' and a lovely arrangement of 'Abide with Me'.
