Foden's and the James Morrison Quartet

On the 15th July Foden's will appear in concert with the James Morrison Jazz Quartet at the RNCM commencing at 7.30pm.

The Quartet is one of the World’s most in demand jazz ensembles comprising James Morrison as well as a trio of guitar, bass and drums. The group were formed in 2015 and since this time have performed all over the World including BBC Proms, with jazz superstar Dianne Reeves and the BBC Concert Orchestra; the Prague Proms Festival at Smetna Hall with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra; the Festival of Jazz de Valencia at the Palau de la Musica in Spain; the National Arts Festival in South Africa; the Melbourne International Jazz Festival with Grammy Award winning diva Patti Austin and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and International Jazz Day with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra at the Adelaide Festival Theatre and Grammy Award winning artist Gordon Goodwin.

James is known throughout the world for his sheer brilliance as a jazz musician and an all round entertainer. He is constantly on tour and his recordings are best sellers. Ray Brown called him “The Genius” and Dizzy Gillespie called him “One of The Best” but Wynton Marsalis summed it up: “Man, James Morrison can play!” James Morrison is, by anybody’s standard, a virtuoso in the true sense of the word. Besides the trumpet, this multi-instrumentalist also plays piano, all the brass, saxophones, and double bass.

As well as featuring the Quartet, Foden's will also provide entertainment as well as accompanying James in a number of solos.

Speaking about the forthcoming concert Mark Wilkinson commented “The band have been extremely fortunate to work with leading performers this year including Matt Ford and Mike Lovatt and are looking forward to working with James and the Quartet. It is not everyday that bands get the chance to work with musicians of this calibre. Due to this being a rare appearance in England for the Quartet (and James) people are advised to make the most of this opportunity in what will be a fantastic concert.”
