Entries invited for Don Lusher Trophy
The British Trombone Society is proud to remember Don Lusher, one of the world’s great trombonists. This exciting competition, with kind support of Diana Lusher, gives young players the opportunity to display their melodic, ballad style of playing. Don was renowned worldwide for his mastery of this genre of playing.
Applicants are invited to submit an unedited performance of the set work, 'Dark Eyes' and a free choice piece in MP3 format no later than 14th July. An expert judging panel will then select three finalists who will compete live for the opportunity to win The Don Lusher Trophy awarded by Diana Lusher and a guest performance appearance with the Black Dyke Band.
The final will be held at the British Trombone Society North West Trombone Day on 15th September 2018 in the Peel Hall, The University of Salford, The Crescent, Salford, M5 4WU.
