Brass on the Bus

On Sunday 6 May 'Brass on the Bus' once again took to the streets of London to perform to unsuspecting members of the public.

Instigated a few years ago by NYBBGB Alumni Kaitlin Wild and Tom Steer, Brass on the Bus has become an annual fundraising event which takes place in central London. Commenting on the project Kaitlin stated, "We assembled a brass band and travelled around some of London's most iconic sights, performing and raising money for charity. We were really excited to perform at our new venue, Spitalfields market this year and hopefully raised lots of money for our chosen charities Mind and London Music Fund."

Having raised over £4,000 since its inception, the 'band' comprised of brass enthusiasts from the capital's finest music conservatories, professional players and supporters from local brass bands. Once again, the players were directed by tuba legend Patrick Harrild and delighted crowds at the familiar haunts of Millennium Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral and Monument.

There is still time to donate by visiting www.justgiving.com/brassonthebus2018 to donate to Mind, or https://londonmusicfund.charitycheckout.co.uk/pf/brassonthebus to donate to the London Music Fund.
