NYBBS 60th Anniversary composing Competition

National Youth Band of Scotland looks forward to celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, and the Scottish Brass Band Association is seeking a composer to write a celebratory march to mark the occasion.  The piece will be given its world premiere at the NYBBS 60th Celebration Concert at the Albert Hall in Stirling on July 29th.

A panel of judges will choose the top 3 compositions, with prizes of £1000, £500 and £250 on offer for the top three works. The competition is open to young Scottish Composers, up to the age of 23, who are invited to submit a score in PDF format of an original march composition for brass band along with an MP3 recording of the work. The winning entrants will also be offered mentor sessions with well-known composers.

The closing date for entries is 1st March 2018.
