SBBA recognise 60 years of dedication

The Scottish Brass Band Association has awarded Stuart McNab, Musical Director with Creetown, a special honour in recognition of his services to brass bands spanning over 60 years.

Stuart began his playing with Kirkintilloch before leaving to start work as a teacher at the Douglas Ewart High School in 1983 and moving to Creetown as Musical Director, where he has just completed 34 years in the role.

John Boax of SBBA stated: "Stuart has given remarkable service not just to Creetown, but to the whole of Scottish banding. It's people like him that make brass banding music making such a wonderful community based activity, and one that has a lasting impact on so many people's lives. The whole of Scottish banding owes him a great debt of gratitude."
