Farr has a magical time in Japan

Virtuoso tenor horn soloist Owen Farr has just completed a very successful tour in Japan. Hot off the heels of recording his latest and soon to be released solo album, Demonic Virtuoso, Owen travelled to Japan. Upon arrival, the hosts whisked Owen off to Disneyland, for a magical start to his time in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The real work began the following day with the Besson Artist performing a concert with Akatsuki in Edogawa, before travelling to Hamamatsu to rehearse for their upcoming concert. Owen then embarked on five days of masterclasses, workshops and teaching with the Utsonomiya Brass Society, Saitama Premier Brass, Godai Music School and the prestigious Senzuko College. He also managed to fit in a visit to the Besson factory in Tokyo to give some private lessons, before giving his first recital of the trip with Kana Madarame in Mito City.

The tour concluded with a fantastically well received concert performance with the Hamamatsu Brass Band and a further recital in Toyko. Commenting on the tour Owen told BBW: "Japan is a wonderful country full of kind, enthusiastic people. I'm so lucky to have been invited here and I've loved every minute of it!"
