Northern Highlights for Clarence Adoo Trust

The Hendon Band of The Salvation Army is to join forces with Salvationist vocalist, Bobby Irvine, in a reprise of the first ever Northern Highlights Festival in aid of the Clarence Adoo Trust, sponsored by SP&S and Yamaha. The concert, Northern Highlights 2017, takes place on Saturday 10 June in Castleford. Dr. Stephen Cobb will conduct and the concert will also feature Castleford Salvation Army Songsters and The Salvation Army's Territorial Commander, Commissioner Clive Adams, who will compère the evening.

Clarence Adoo was one of the country's leading trumpet players before being paralysed from the shoulders down following a car accident in 1995. The Clarence Adoo Trust was set up to enable him to retain an active and independent life and the concert ha raised over £26,000 for the Trust since 2002. He commented: "Northern Highlights continues to be a very special date in the calendar and it has made a fantastic contribution to the Trust over the years. It's exciting that Hendon Band and Bobby Irvine are coming together once again to raise money for the Trust, and I am enormously grateful to them and everyone involved in the concert for giving of their time and talents in this way."
