SATCOL acquires Studio Music Company

The Salvation Army Trading Company (SATCOL) has revealed that it has acquired Studio Music Company Ltd.

The acquisition will see Studio Music relocate from Luton to Wellingborough, and Mhairi Reid and Heidi Sones, who have many years of music retail experience, will continue to supply the same high level of expertise that Studio Music customers have become accustomed to.

On behalf of SATCOL, Marketing Co-ordinator Neil Brownless commented: “It will be business as usual, with the same wide range of music available and knowledgeable staff on hand to help you find that perfect piece for your next school band rehearsal, concert or contest. From solos to full orchestra and everything in-between, Studio Music will continue to be your one-stop sheet music shop. The band and instrumental catalogues include several thousand popular works from all major publishers.”

Studio Music (Publications), established in 1957 primarily as a publisher and distributor of brass band music, remains under the ownership of the well-known Stan Kitchen and Neil Brownless elaborated: “We are pleased to announce that the prestigious catalogue of works published by Studio Music (Publications) will be exclusively distributed from Wellingborough.”

Stan Kitchen (85 years young!) is delighted that this new association will secure the future of Studio Music (Publications) and preserve the availability of much-loved music. Said Neil Brownless: “Watch out, there are more fine works to be released soon. Many of you will know Sandra and Paul Williams, Stan’s daughter and son-in-law, who will now be assisting Stan in his endeavours.”
