‘Who are we to judge?’

Harmen Vanhoorne and Stan Nieuwenhuis have just held a very special launch of Harmen’s new crossover pop CD, doux - Ellis Island, inspired by photographs taken by Augustus Sherman from 1892 and 1854, when Sherman was Chief Clerk of Ellis Island, New York - an inspection station for millions of immigrants arriving in the USA.
Over time, Sherman’s photographs have become recognised as a powerful record of one of the largest mass migrations that the World has seen - 12 million people in all, many escaping social and political turmoil in their home countries, just as is happening today across the World and Harmen’s doux – Ellis Island CD comes with the strong political message about immigration...
