Brass Band De Wâldsang reclaimed the title of Dutch National Champion for the first time since 2009; something of a surprise occurred in the Austrian National Championships as a delighted Fröschl Hall beat back the pre-contest favourites to claim the band’s first-ever victory at the competition; Concord retained the Danish National title by finishing ahead of Arhus and Lyngby-Taarbaek in a gripping contest; whilst Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag was the master of entertainment in Norway’s SIDDIS, not only for the second year running, but also for a record 17th time and with a clear three-point lead over rivals, Manger Musikklag and Stavanger.
